This year's 8th Grade Artists created these graphic design tool drawings over the course of a few days. They began by drawing the tools from real life, working with drawing pencils, tortillons (for blending the graphite), and erasers to create a variety of values in order to make those tools more realistic and to give them depth. The artists then came up with words they would associate with the tools, words connected with the purposes or movements of the tools. They then worked with arcs, circles, lines, and other objects that they related to the purposes or movements of those tools to create a balanced and eye-catching composition. Scroll down to see their work.
