Art in Smith Center Junior High

Scroll down to see the variety of acrylic paintings inspired by Futurism, an art movement of the early 20th century which focused on describing the modern world as those artists saw, heard, and felt it. The Futurists were in part inspired themselves by chronophotography, photography that captured movement over the passage of time, as they developed ideas that focused on movement and energy. Many of the Futurists and the artists on this page worked with abstracted forms as well as color and repetition to create their compositions.
